The book presents the results of archaeological, geological, palinological and zoological investigation of the materials from Upper Palaeolithic site Sunghir (about 30 000 years). It is the first complete publication of the unique burials, rich collection of the accompanying inventory, reconstruction of the Paleolithic man clothes, archaic counting and calendar. The second part of the book displays the reconstruction of the environment by geological, palinological, zoological data.

Collective monograph summarized results of study of anthropological materials from Upper Palaeolithic site Sunghir. The earlier published articles are reproduced, as well as new data that were got by methods of multivariate statistics, palaeodemography, morphology, palaeopathology, X-ray study, histology, trace elements and molecular genetic analyses. The whole illustrated catalogue of skeletal materials is for the first time presented. Monograph is addressed to anthropologists, archaeologists, palaeoecologists and historians.
