  Radiocarbon data

In 1999-2000 there were obtained 21 new radiocarbon dates of the Sunghir cultural layer on the mammal bones - mammoth, horse and reindeer in the GIN laboratory, Moscow (GIN). Three human bones from the Sunghir burial and one mammoth bone from the layer were dated in the Oxford laboratory (OxA) and four human bones were dated in the Arizona Laboratory (AA).

Results of specimen dating in the laboratories of Moscow and Oxford the interval between 20360+/-90 and 28800+/-240 years ago was obtained. Moreover the majority of specimen (17) gives the age between 26300+/-300 and 28800+/-240 years ago.
